Rafael Tardio Alonso (Spanish,1926-2016), listed Spanish artist. Original mixed media (watercolor, pen & ink) painting/drawing depicting a young local Spanish fisherman on a waterway. Artwork is on paper and is fixed to board. Signed and dated 1983 lower right. Image sight 16 7/8" x 11 1/2." Board 19" x 13 5/8." See photos.

Rafael Tardío Alonso (El Puerto de Santa María, Cádiz, Spain, September 22, 1929 – September 22, 2016) was a costumbrista painter: his painting was always figurative and realistic: landscapes, costumbrista scenes and figures. He studied painting at the Santa Cecilia Academy of Fine Arts in that city, his teacher being the painter Juan Lara Izquierdo.
