Item Description
Rare antique/turn-of-the-century laparoscope medical kit that was originally battery powered and would have had large batteries in the underside of the case that hooked up to the hardware on the underside of the top plate. Some of the instruments have bulb ends that would have lit up. Made by the Surgical Appliance Mfg Co., Rochester, NY. Name plate on inside of the top of the case as seen. Instruments are marked. Placed in a wooden dovetailed case. There is wear to the case, see condition report details. Case measures 12 3/8" x 7 1/4" x 5 3/8." See photos.

Item Condition
All of the instruments appear to be accounted for, although do note that the otoscope type device and its attachments do not fit properly in the holders as seen. The set originally would have had large batteries in the underside of the case that hooked up to the hardware on the underside of the top plate and some of the instruments have bulb ends that would have lit up. Light wear to the instrument metal. The dovetailed wooden case shows wear throughout including some chips, looseness to some of the dovetailing and corrosion/wear to metal latches. Latches are not in working order. See photos.
